Knapp Elementary Campus Safety

As part of our continued efforts to strengthen campus safety and maintain a secure perimeter, we will be adding additional privacy screening along sections of our playground fencing.

This enhancement helps create a focused environment for students while reducing outside disruptions. We appreciate our neighbors’ partnership as we continue to prioritize student safety.

Public Health Reminder- Immunizations

As we move through the spring months, this is a good time to check that your child’s immunizations are up to date, including the measles vaccine.

While cases remain rare, measles is highly contagious. If a case were to occur in a school setting, students who are not immunized may be required by public health guidance to remain home during the exposure period. This can result in an extended absence from school.

We encourage families to review their child’s immunization records and connect with their pediatrician or health provider if you have questions or need to schedule an update. Taking a moment to confirm records now can help avoid unexpected disruptions to your child’s learning later in the year. Thank you for helping us keep our school community healthy.

CMAS Testing Information- 3rd-5th Grade

The Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) are end-of-year tests that help students and parents understand if students are on track to meet the expectations of college and careers. Score reports show how students are doing compared to the school, district and state. The testing window is April 6-24, opening the day our students return from Spring Break.

Results help schools know how to improve learning and the community can see how well schools are serving students. While student participation is highly encouraged, parents may choose to excuse their child from testing. For more details about this or on why these assessments matter, visit the DPS CMAS Website.

Reminder- March is Parent/Teacher Conference Month

Please be sure to check in with your child’s teacher so you stay informed about their progress and growth.

If your child may need additional support, we encourage you to schedule time with the teacher to learn more about the interventions being used at school and ways you can support learning at home. Our shared goal is to ensure every student is progressing toward grade-level expectations.
