Hello Kaiser Families,
October is sure a busy month! Please make sure you are aware of all the exciting events happening at Kaiser.
Fall is officially here! I’ve loved feeling the coolness in the air, hearing the leaves crunch under my feet, and, of course, celebrating two Bronco wins in a row!
As we enter this beautiful season, we’re also preparing for Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), a special time to honor and remember loved ones who have passed. At Kaiser, we have created a beautiful Ofrenda, or altar, filled with photos, candles, and meaningful decorations. If you would like to contribute, please send in a picture of a loved one who has passed away. We will make a color copy of the photo so it can be safely displayed on our school Ofrenda. The display will be up through October 31st for everyone to enjoy and reflect upon.
Important October Dates:
Monday, October 13: No School for Students
Friday, October 17: Field Day — Visitors will sign in through the field fence. You’ll receive a visitor sticker and sign-in sheet upon entry. If you need to come inside the building for any reason, please check in through the front office with Ms. Renee.
Wednesday, October 16 & Tuesday, October 21: Parent-Teacher Conferences, 3:00–7:00 PM — Be on the lookout for information on how to sign up.
Thursday, October 30: Halloween Celebration & Parade — Students should not come to school in their costumes but may bring them in their backpacks to change into before the parade. Parents are invited to stand in the middle of the field while students parade around so you can take pictures and enjoy the celebration. Visitors will sign in at the field fence just as they will on Field Day.
Friday, October 31: No School for Students
October is packed with fun, learning, and community — we can’t wait to celebrate together!
In Partnership,
Mrs. Vasta
Today we celebrated nearly 90 students who have maintained 95–100% attendance so far this year! 🎉 Thank you to the families for making this possible and supporting your students. Keep up the great work by arriving on time each day—every minute matters, and we love seeing your faces in the morning!
What is an excused absence?
An excused absence is when your child misses school for valid reasons such as illness, medical appointments, family emergencies, or other approved situations. Please be sure to notify the school and provide any necessary documentation.
What is NOT an excused absence?
Absences for reasons like vacations, oversleeping, or missing the bus without prior approval are considered unexcused and result in lost learning time.
Why is attendance so important?
Missing even a few minutes adds up quickly and can affect your child’s understanding of lessons, participation, and overall progress. We want to work with you to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed!

Thank you for helping us learn how to better support our students’ needs—your voice matters!
Teaching students about mental health wellness and how to care for themselves is important. Feelings of sadness and depression appear to be happening at a much earlier age, and adolescence can feel like a rollercoaster of emotions. Risk factors such as depression and self-injury can be treated. While not every student will experience these feelings, they may be able to help a friend in need.
Each year, schools teach students how to identify risk factors for depression and how to ask for help from a trusted adult. Classroom lessons also include information on Safe2Tell Colorado. Programming is implemented in all 5th, 6th, 9th, and 12th grades.
This year Kaiser Elementary will implement Erica’s Lighthouse in our 5th grade class beginning October 27.
If you DO NOT want your child to participate in programming, please sign the form that will be going home and return the form to Mrs. Farrell by October 24.
If we do not hear from you, we will assume your child has permission to participate in these programs.
