A Message From the Principal
Hello, Commander Community! It was great seeing so many families Wednesday night at Back to School Night. I connected with some of you and got to know you better. If you could not attend Back to School Night, there will be more opportunities to interact with our staff shortly.
As we all settle back into our routines, I hope everyone is finding their stride and enjoying the start of the school year. Wishing you all a fun and safe Labor Day weekend!
-Victoria Wyatt, Proud Principal

Student Drop-Off
Thank you for your support with our new drop-off system. It was a slight adjustment, but all students are safely entering through our student entrance.
Students will not be let into the East side of the building unless they are with a parent who is checking in. All students must enter on the West side of the building next to the student parking lot.
Student IDs
Starting Monday, all students must have their IDs visible when entering the building at any time. If an ID is lost or stolen, they must report to the main office to purchase a new one.
Cell Phone Policy
Cell phones may not be used in any classrooms unless explicitly approved by the teacher for learning purposes. This includes the use of headphones.
Families can call the Main Office (720-423-4300) if they need to get in touch with their student(s) during the school day.
Athletics
Fall Sports Community Night is next week! If your Commander is participating in a fall sport, please join us in the auditorium on September 5 at 6:30 p.m. Athletic Director Jen Montoya will discuss what success looks like as a student athlete, expectations, schedules, transportation plans and communication. Do you have questions about the meeting? Contact Ms. Montoya at jennifer_montoya@dpsk12.net. We’ll see you there!

Free Vision, Hearing & Dental Screening for Kennedy Students
Each year Denver Public Schools provides the opportunity for a free vision, hearing and dental screening for students in mandated grades. We will be screening all Kennedy 9th & 10th grade students beginning September 3 through September 6. Screening is considered best practice to identify students who may be at risk for health concerns affecting their ability to learn. These free screenings are not an assessment or an evaluation and do not replace professional exams. Parents/guardians of students whose screening results fall outside the optimal range will be notified.
Please contact School Nurse Melissa if you DO NOT want your student to participate in these screenings- 720-423-4358 or email at melissa_paniagua@dpsk12.net
Order Your Cap and Gown
It's never to early to prepare for graduation! Class of 2025, order your Cap and Gown. Details on how to order are linked here.
