PSAT Testing

As we enter the Spring semester, we will soon be approaching the testing season. It is a priority for us to provide students with the support and resources to achieve at high levels and make academic gains. Students in 9th and 10th grades are expected to take the PSAT and students in 11th are expected to take the SAT each school year.

We are excited to announce that all of our students in 9th-11th will have access to Princeton Review materials to prepare and practice for the exam. Princeton Review offers a range of services such as, customized study plans based on individual students needs as well as practice tests and materials. Students will have opportunities during the school day to explore the Princeton Review resources, and they are also encouraged to practice at home.

Students can access their Princeton Review materials by going to: princetonreview.com

  • Username: DPS email

  • Password: Welcome1

Students will be engaging in a practice test through Princeton Review on the following days.

PSAT schedule

*Seniors will receive personalized emails to either work with the Future Center toward college and career goals or will be expected to attend if they are working toward completing graduation requirements (completing courses, ICAP, etc.)

Additional Information:

  • Students will need to bring their fully-charged Chromebooks and chargers to school with them on testing days.

  • There will be a modified schedule for both of these days, and students will be released after testing is complete. Testing is expected to end around noon.

  • If students require accommodations, their testing is expected to run a little longer, and case managers will be communicating those specific times on an individual basis.

  • Students should still arrive at 8:00 a.m. if they want breakfast, and students will head to their testing rooms at 8:20 a.m.

  • Grab-and-go lunch will be available for students after they complete testing and before dismissal.

  • DPS transportation will be available for students at 3:50 for students who ride the bus. We will have the Library open for students who need to stay in between testing and when transportation arrives.

Guardians, please know that students are required by the State to participate in these assessments, unless they are officially opted out by a parent. Parents can opt their students out via the Parent Portal, but we encourage students to participate. Kennedy needs at least 95% of students taking these assessments in order to maintain or improve our School Performance Framework rating. Our Front Office also has opt out forms or you can email Merlinda Maldonado (mmaldon@dpsk12.net) or Justin Jeannot (justin_jeannot@dpsk12.net) if you would like to opt your student out of testing or have questions.
