Army Marksmanship Nationals Results

Adriana Caldera-Perez traveled to Salt Lake City, UT February 4 - 8 2026 for the Army Nationals.  Adriana represented John F. Kennedy High School, our JROTC Program, and herself in fine fashion!  The 1st day of competition Adriana shot a 582 - 39x out of 600 for a personal and school record!  This also put her in 3rd place in the Army Army Nationals. We are extremely proud of Adriana and look forward to what she will do at the Civilian Marksmanship Regionals in April!

New Mexico Drill Meet

We could not be more impressed with the outstanding performance of our cadets!

The Honor Platoon team took 2nd place in Inspection, 2nd place in Regulation, 1st place in Color Guard, and 1st place in Exhibition. Leslie Hernandez took 3st place in the drill down, following Cindy Le in 1rd place in the drill down. As a result of their outstanding performance, the HP team took 1st place overall in the unarmed drill competition. We are extremely proud of them!

The Precision team took 11th place overall with a score of 2,167 shooting their lowest score of the season. We are going to attribute the low score to me being placed on five weeks of Admin Leave and our first match out of state. Congratulations to Alex Stanton with the high score of 546. Congratulations to Vincent McHome for shooting a new personal record of 545.

The Sporter team placed 18th overall with a score of 1,815 shooting their high score for the season. Congratulations to Mia Chavez shooting a new personal high and the high score 501. Also Congratulations to Jazmine Bonilla and Amanda Carreon both shooting new personal highs of 423.

College and Career Success

College and Career Success is asking for your help in identifying and encouraging students to apply for the  #MyPlanDPS Student Achievement Award. This award is an opportunity to recognize students who have shown perseverance, growth, and determination, especially those whose hard work may not always be visible but has made a powerful impact.

This is a wonderful opportunity to share positive stories and recognize students who have achieved success despite challenges. By celebrating them, we not only honor their accomplishments but also uplift others by showing what is possible. These students become role models and sources of encouragement for peers who may need inspiration.

Thank you for helping us shine a light on our students’ successes and the amazing schools who are providing the environment for our students to thrive.

Wish Week

Although the winter dance has been canceled, our community can still come together for an important cause. Students, families, and community members are encouraged to donate to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in support of our Wish Kid, Cristo.

As of today’s pep rally, we’ve already raised $1,000, and we’re aiming to reach our final goal of $7,500. Every contribution brings us one step closer to making Cristo’s wish come true.

Student Information

Khan Academy

We are excited to share that our students now have access to Khan Academy, a free SAT tutoring platform that offers personalized lessons tailored to each student’s needs, helping them master important SAT standards.

To ensure all students benefit from this resource, we will provide embedded time for SAT practice within their core content area classes. Additionally, we strongly encourage students to continue practicing at home to reinforce their skills and maximize their progress.

To further motivate our students, we will offer weekly incentives for those who log in and practice beyond class time, as well as for students who demonstrate mastery of key skills. Thank you for supporting our students as they prepare for success on the SAT!
