Join us at the Kennedy College Fair
We’re excited to invite juniors and seniors to our Annual College Fair on October 30. This event provides students with the opportunity to connect with representatives from colleges, universities, trade schools, and technical programs from across Colorado and beyond. It’s a great chance for them to explore postsecondary options, learn about admissions, financial aid and scholarships, and begin planning for their future.
In addition, School Counselors and Future Center advisors will be available to support students and answer any questions they may have about the college process, career paths, or financial aid resources.
Schedule:
Juniors: 9:00–9:25 AM
Seniors: 9:30–10:00 AM
Many of our JFK students are first-generation college-bound or exploring different educational opportunities. We encourage you to talk with your student about attending. It’s an essential step toward preparing for life after high school.
We look forward to your student making the most of this valuable opportunity!
Student ID
All students are required to have their student ID out and visible at all times. Students who do not have their ID will be issued a new one. The first ID is free; anyone after that will be $5 each.
Trick-or-Treat Street
Come get spooky with us at Trick-or-Treat Street on Wednesday, October 30 from 5-7 p.m. in the Kennedy gym! There is no admission cost, and all are welcome.
Homecoming Dance Attendance Reminder
In order for students to attend the Homecoming dance on Saturday, November 2, students need to have 85% attendance from October 15-25. Tickets are $15 per person, $20 per person at the door.
Updates to the Kennedy Gym
We are excited to announce that our gym is being painted to align with our current school branding and create a modern, vibrant space that reflects the pride and energy of our students. This renovation is part of our commitment to providing a welcoming and inspiring environment for our students and the Commander community.
However, we recognize that this project involves painting over murals generously gifted to the school by the Class of 2008. These murals have been a part of our school’s history and are cherished reminders of the creativity and spirit of that graduating class. We want to assure the Commander Community that this decision is not an attempt to erase or disrespect the memories tied to the murals but rather to give our current and future students a space that resonates with their experiences and the evolving identity of our school.
To honor the Class of 2008 and their contribution, we will be framing this photo of the murals and will hang it in the Kennedy Athletic Hallway to ensure the legacy of this gift has a permanent place in JFK’s history. We are grateful for the continued support and understanding of our school community as we make these updates, and we look forward to unveiling a gym that honors both our history and future.
