Community Updates 12/10: Winter Festivities Coming Up!

From the Desk of Ms. D

Dear Hawks Community,

Happy December! Here at all Hallett, we are celebrating the holiday season all month long. We already had a cozy Polar Express movie night and a surprise visit to ECE and Kinder from Santa, Mrs. Claus and some elves! Coming up, we have our holiday themed open house, winter spirit week, and our winter music showcase. Read on for more information about each event.

We also have College Week coming up on Dec. 15-19! As you know, I believe it's never too early to start thinking about our Hawks' futures. Our Hawks will hear from high school counselors, current college students, and representatives from different trades. To top it all off, we're closing out college week with a visit from CU Boulder's mascot, Chip the Buffalo! And don't forget: College Week is for parents, too. We're hosting a planning for college workshop on Wednesday, Dec. 17 (dinner will be provided, so please RSVP).

I'm so excited to close out the year with college week and winter festivities. Make sure your student is on time for school every day so they don't miss out on the fun!

Warmly,

Ms. D, Principal

❄️ Holiday Fun Open House: Tomorrow, Dec. 11

Did you know that Hallett gets around $12,000 for every single student that attends? The more students we recruit, the more budget we'll have to enhance our Hawks' learning experiences! Help us recruit more students to our amazing school by bringing your friends, families, and neighbors to our open house tomorrow at 5-6:30 p.m.

We'll have free pizza and treats, holiday activities, a performance from the Hallett choir, swag giveaways, and a chance to meet Frosty the Snowman! We'll also lead a tour of Hallett, a principal presentation and Q&A, and an educator Q&A so prospective families can learn all about us.

Help us spread the word, and please ask your friends to RSVP if they plan to attend so we can order enough pizza!

🎓 Get A Free Dinner and Learn How You Can Save $47,000 on College Tuition: Dec. 17

Join us on Wednesday, Dec. 17 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. for dinner and an informative session on planning for your child's future!

Guests from Northeast Early College (NEC) will tell you about how you can save $47,000 in college tuition. At NEC, DPS students can earn their associate degree FOR FREE - a degree that fully transfers to 4 year universities and can save you thousands on college tuition.

We'll also hear from Hallett parent Charlene West, who is the Program Manager of DPS's Launch Internship Program. Charlene will speak about how you can start preparing for your child's future career and their middle school, high school and college experiences - starting now!

You'll have plenty of time to ask our guests questions, too! Don't miss this amazing opportunity - and be sure to RSVP by Monday, Dec. 15 so we can order enough food.
