Dear Hawks Community,

We have some exciting new things underway at Hallett!

Firstly, we are launching our school store! We have youth hoodies and shirts, as well as adult hoodies, shirts, and sweatpants. Get your gear and show off your Hallett school spirit! I've included details on how to access our school store below.

Secondly, we wanted to remind you about the new DPS app, which you can download from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. Your child's teacher is now sending all classroom communications through the DPS app, so make sure you download the app and enable notifications! I've included more information about the app and how to use it below as well.

Our school store officially launched TODAY! Buy your Hallett merch by following the below steps:

• Go to the school store link

• You'll be prompted to make an account. Select "I am a new user" and create a username and password to log in.

• Select "Community"

• Select "Elementary Schools"

• Select Hallett (schools are listed alphabetically)

• Place your order!

Classroom teachers are using the new DPS App to communicate with families! Within the app, you can join your child's "Room" to see their teacher's newsletters and reminders. Please follow the below steps to set up the DPS app:

1. Download the DPS app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

2. Open the app, then tap “Rooms,” then “Continue to sign in.”

3. Type in your guardian email address or phone number.

4. If you typed in your email address, tap “Log in with code.” If you typed in your phone number, you will automatically receive a code. Type this code in when prompted.

5. You will be prompted to select your preferred communication language.

6. You will be automatically signed into your students’ Rooms. You can now see communications from your child's teacher!

7. Be sure to enable notifications from the DPS app so you don't miss important announcements.

Join our community for Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 3 from 5- 7 p.m.! This FREE community event will be at 3333 Holly St. There will be candy, food, games and a bouncy house!

Parent Night has been rescheduled to Wednesday, October 8 at 3:30 p.m. to accommodate parent/teacher conferences. We will have our Title 1 meeting and dinner from 3:30-4:30 p.m., and then conferences will take place until 8 p.m. This will allow parents to attend the meeting and conferences if they wish to attend both.

As part of our effort to support the whole child, Hallett is implementing a universal social and emotional screening for students. Your responses will help us make sure your child is supported at Hallett!

Please complete the 10 minute questionnaire by Friday, October 31. You will need your child’s six-digit student ID.

Our Discovery Link program offers FREE before and after school care, summer care, and break camps for our Hawks! Sign your child up to join us! We offer homework help, STEM activities, arts and crafts, dance, healthy snacks and more.
