From the Desk of Ms. D

Dear Hawks Community,

Our first week of school has been going great! Thank you for joining us for our First Day of School Parade. The bubbles, signs and enthusiasm your brought really showed our students that they are supported. As you know, I'm a strong believer that it takes a village to raise a child, and when we show up as a community for our Hawks, we are that village!

Thank you also to those of you who joined the Q&A with Ms. D (me!) a few weeks ago. I'm grateful to have heard many ideas and questions about the 2025-26 school year from you all. Many of you were interested in having this Q&A chats regularly, so we will make that happen! Once we get settled into the school year, we'll schedule principal chats every other month. Stay tuned!

Warmly,

Ms. D, Principal

πŸ’› Please Respect Our Neighbors

Drop off and pick up can be a busy time on the streets surrounding Hallett. To respect the residents of these streets, please do not block their driveways. Please also be mindful of the new speed humps around Hallett - drive slowly and safely.

Finally, when dropping students off in the Kiss N Go lane, be sure to say a quick goodbye and keep moving after dropping off your child. Always drop off your child on the same side of the street as Hallett so they don't have to cross the street!

🌱 Learning in Our Community Garden

We are partnering with a nonprofit called SustainEd Farms to get our students in our garden and help them learn about nutrition and gardening! SustainEd will be at Hallett on September 4 and September 29 during the school day.

πŸ₯¦ Fresh Fruits and Veggies at Hallett

Hallett has been selected to receive fresh fruits and vegetables 3 days a week! This program is designed to introduce students to produce they might not otherwise get to sample. Students will also learn about nutrition.

All fruits and veggies will be delivered to classrooms by kitchen staff. Keep an eye out for a monthly newsletter with updates about the program!
