Hallett students on stage playing drums for winter showcase

From the Desk of Ms. D

Dear Hawks Community,

We nearly made it to winter break! Thank you so much for joining us in celebrating the holidays here at Hallett. It was wonderful to see our community come together for our DiscoveryLink play, How Da Grinch Stole Christmas, and our 2nd and 3rd grade concert and art walk. What a festive time!

I wish you all a safe, warm and restful winter break and holiday season. We will see you back at Hallett on Jan. 7, 2025.

See you in the new year!

Warmly,

Ms. D

Hawks of the Week

We're celebrating our Hawks who live out our values! Every week, educators can select one student that has done an exceptional job of demonstrating one or more of our core values. If your Hawk has been awarded, they will receive a certificate!

The core values that we are celebrating are Honor, Accountability, Wonder, Knowledge and Self-Control. Congratulations to our Hawks of the week!

DiscoveryLink Pick Up Reminder

When picking up your child from DiscoveryLink, please be mindful of where you park so you are not blocking Hallett staff from exiting the building. Please do not park in front of the entrance way or the trash cans; there should be plenty of parking available on the street and in parking spots!

Candice's College Corner: College Readiness Celebration

It's the last newsletter of the month, and that means it's time for Candice's college corner!

Today's tip is a quick and easy one: if you're traveling over winter break, consider touring a college or two with your Hawk! It doesn't have to be an official tour; you can simply walk around campus with your child and chat with them about what they see. This exposure to college at a young age will help your child visualize themselves in college.

In addition to sharing my tip today, I'm also asking for your ideas. We're planning to host a college readiness celebration in the spring! We're still in the beginning planning stages for this event, and we want to get your input. Share your ideas here!
