Community Updates 10/24

Hallett students sit outside on a bench with a view of mountains and forest behind them. One student writes in a notebook while another looks at the view.

From the Desk of Ms. D

Dear Hawks Community,

We are nearing the end of October, which means we have some exciting fall activities coming up! Next week is fall spirit week at Hallett - so make sure your Hawk dresses up! See below for details on how to dress up each day.

On Thursday, October 30, we will be celebrating spooky season with a Fall Festival parade at 3 p.m.! Students will parade around Hallett in their Halloween costumes. Please make sure your student's costume has no blood/gore or weapons. Families are invited to stand around the perimeter of the building to watch the parade! I've included more details below.

Discovery Link will also be hosting their annual haunted hallway from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, October 30! Join us for some scares and Halloween candy!

And one final reminder: there is no school Friday, October 31. Have a happy Halloween!

Warmly,

Ms. D, Principal

πŸŽ“ College Week Dec. 8 - 12

As you may remember, last year we spent a week learning about college! We believe it's never too early to start thinking about the future. We're continuing this tradition; this year, college week will be Dec. 8 - 12!

During college week, we will spend time talking about HBCUs. To get the kiddos excited, we're going to play them videos of current HBCU students giving tours of their campuses and talking about what they love about college. If you know any current HBCU students who would like to make a 1-3 minute video about college for our Hawks, email Emma at emma_calkins@dpsk12.net. Thank you!
