Community Updates 1/16: No School Monday!

From the Desk of Ms. D

Dear Hawks Community,

We've officially made it to the second half of the year! Important learning is happening every day here at Hallett, so make sure your students are on-time and ready to learn at 8:50 a.m.

Just a reminder, SchoolChoice Round 1 ends at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20. 5th grade families, please make sure you have selected your student's middle school for next year!

As we start to plan ahead for marketing Hallett during SchoolChoice Round 2, we'd like to get your input! Have marketing ideas? Been at Hallett for generations and want to share why you and you family love our school? Interested in being interviewed for a video about Hallett? Contact Emma at emma_calkins@dpsk12.net - she's looking for any and all ideas and contributions!

Warmly,

Ms. D, Principal

We will be back at Hallett on Tuesday, Jan. 20.

❀️ Safe2Tell

Safe2Tell is a confidential, anonymous reporting systems designed to help students, parents and teachers report any behaviors or activities that could pose a threat to someone's safety. Reports can be made by phone, email or through the Safe2Tell app.

Shortly before break, students received ID cards with Safe2Tell information on the back. While we won't be using these at school, we recommend that you keep the card in a place your student can access at home - it is meant to be a resource for you and your student!

✊🏿 Black History Month is Coming Up!

Black History Month (February) is coming up! Ask your student: what questions do you have about Black history? Encourage your student to write down their questions and bring them to Ms. D. In February, we'll spend time talking about our students' questions during morning announcements!
