Set Your Student's Communication Preferences
Denver Public Schools has transitioned to a new communications platform for all its external communications. In order to ensure your student is receiving important school-based communications (including the Weekly Roundup), be sure your student has opted-in through Student Portal. Instructions are HERE.
Assessment - 2025 AP and IB Exam Schedule and Final Exams Schedule
Please review the 2025 AP and IB exam schedule HERE, and the final exams schedule HERE. Students who have a direct conflict between an AP and IB exam need to contact our AP Coordinator, Mrs. Hunter, in room 214, and our IB Coordinator, Mr. Hildner, in room 112 as soon as possible.
After a student in grade 11 or grade 12 takes an AP or IB exam, they are no longer required to attend any remaining scheduled classes for the course in which they tested. Grade 11 and grade 12 students who do not take the AP or IB exam in their course must continue to attend scheduled classes and take a course final exam. Grade 9 and grade 10 students, regardless of whether they take their AP or IB exam, must continue to attend scheduled classes for every course. Earning honors-weight credit for that course is contingent on completion of a final exam. All students who are taking an AP or IB exam will be excused from all of their classes on the day of their exam. Students who are not testing must attend all their classes that day.
Online Registration for the 2025-2026 School Year
Current DPS families, save time by updating your student’s information online! By completing this process using your Parent Portal account, you can avoid paper forms and save time at the school during the fall return. All SchoolChoice applicants must have an accepted seat before registering their student. Select one of the windows available to register your student(s) online for 2025-2026:
The “Early Bird” window: Monday, May 5 through Friday, May 23
Monday, July 28 through Friday, August 15
To register online, primary legal guardians of current DPS students must have an active DPS Parent Portal account. Visit myportal.dpsk12.org to sign up, or to check that your account is active and ready.
For more information on how to complete online registration, contact the Main Office or visit schoolchoice.dpsk12.org.
PSAT and SAT Score Availability
Students in grades 9, 10 and 11, your PSAT and SAT scores from our April test dates will be available in your College Board accounts starting Thursday, May 15. If you chose to allow College Board to text you, you will be notified via text when your scores are available.
Chromebook Check-In
In May, all students will be turning in their clean and sticker-free DPS Chromebooks, chargers, and hotspots. If you have fees on your MySchoolBucks account for lost/stolen/damaged equipment, please pay those fees early. If you have multiple Chromebooks checked out, bring them to Mr. Embleton for check-in as soon as possible! Please do not wait until the last day to return multiple working or damaged Chromebooks. If you have tech charges or fees you are questioning, please bring a copy of your MySchoolBucks account report and come see Mr. Embleton in room 323.
Coin Drive for Ms. Rosen
We are excited to announce that GWHS will be hosting a coin drive Monday, May 12 through Friday, May 16. Each teacher will have a place for students to bring in any spare change they have to show some GWHS love to Ms. Rosen, who recently suffered a stroke (spoiler alert: some teachers may even delay the start of class while they count your change!). If you would like to make a direct donation to Ms. Rosen's GoFundMe page, use the QR code linked HERE.
JROTC STEM Academy
The Denver District JROTC is hosting an Aerospace STEM Academy at GWHS from Sunday, June 8 through Friday, June 13. Students do not need to have an aerospace or STEM background. The cost is $40, which includes all of the STEM classes and activities, the field trips and the transportation, catered meals, and a shirt. Only six slots are still available! If interested, please contact a JROTC instructor as soon as possible. Click HERE for more information.
