Set Your Student's Communication Preferences

Denver Public Schools has transitioned to a new communications platform for all its external communications. In order to ensure your student is receiving important school-based communications (including the Weekly Roundup), be sure your student has opted-in through Student Portal. Instructions are HERE.

New Tardy Policy Effective January 14

Starting January 14, GWHS will be implementing a new tardy policy. Please review policy rationale and details HERE.

Choice of Studies

We are excited to announce our Choice of Studies process. Counselors will virtually visit all English classes to meet with students and provide an overview of the Choice of Studies process, graduation requirements, and pathway opportunities. Over the next week, counselors will then have one-on-one meetings with students to finalize course requests, review academic standing and goals, and help students complete their Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP).

In the meantime, students and families are encouraged to review the course catalog in the Choice of Studies Hub to explore the many pathway opportunities available.

Students - Join the Greenhouse Restoration Project Team

The GW Greenhouse Team and the GW Grow Club are thrilled to announce that GWHS was awarded $24,750 towards refurbishing the Greenhouse! The Climate Champions Grant is a partnership between DPS’ Sustainability Team and Denver’s Office of Climate Action, Sustainability and Resiliency. The grant was written by a GWHS student committee including Abby Wenig, Addison Philabaum, Emily Vazquez Ricaldy, Finn Graham and Graeme Elson, and the project’s school sponsor is Ms. Mitchell. Improvements to the greenhouse include new roof glazing, wall repairs and new cooling systems. We are looking for more students to help with the GW Greenhouse Restoration Project as part of the Greenhouse Team. We meet in Ms. Mitchell’s classroom (room 030) on Thursday mornings from 8:45 to 9:40am. Please join us this Thursday, January 16 if you are interested in helping with this project! Questions? Contact Lisa at lemerson8@msn.com.
