Denver Public Schools has just transitioned to a new communications platform for all its external communications. In order to ensure your student is receiving important school-based communications (including the Weekly Roundup), be sure your student has opted-in through Student Portal. Instructions are HERE.
Fall 2024 Final Exams Schedule
Please find the Fall 2024 Final Exams Schedule HERE. Please note we do not allow requests to modify final exam dates, except in extreme cases (student hospitalization, etc.).
New Tardy Policy Effective January 14
Starting January 14, GWHS will be implementing a new tardy policy. Please review policy rationale and details HERE.
Yearbook Purchasing and Submissions
Yearbook purchasing and submissions are open! Click HERE for information on how to order your yearbook, submit a senior portrait, and order a baby ad dedication. Yearbook ordering is open through March 10; senior portraits and baby dedications are due no later than January 3.
School Store and Coffee Bar Now Open
The School Store and Coffee Bar items are available for delivery during our open hours, which are Mondays (periods 3 and 6), Tuesdays (period 2), Wednesdays (period 3), Thursdays (periods 2 and 6) and Fridays (periods 2, 3 and 6). Scan the QR code, fill out your items in the form with your name and room number, and your items will be delivered to your classroom during the period of your choice! Please be prepared to pay with credit card or ApplePay when your delivery arrives, and confirm before you order that your teacher allows deliveries. Click HERE for the form and QR code.
Monday and Friday Dress Days
Every Monday this school year, wear your gear that represents your post-high school plans! This can be anything from a college hoodie to a mechanic's worksuit - just be creative and represent your goals! Every Friday this school year, wear your greenest GWHS gear to show your Patriot pride!
Colorado Gives Day - Huge Thanks!
Tuesday, December 10 marked the annual Colorado Gives Day, and WOW did our Patriot family show their Patriot Pride! Our amazing donors blessed us with over $22,000 in donations, spread across a huge range of clubs, activities and support organizations. Colorado Laws and Making Good Decisions
Join GWHS's PTSO on Wednesday, January 15 from 6:30 to 8:00pm to welcome 5280's Top Lawyer, Lara Baker. Ms. Baker will be discussing Colorado laws in regards to students and technology, drugs and alcohol, discipline and social media. Parents and students are encouraged to attend.
GWHS Landscaping Committee Updates
** Student and Community Volunteer Days: Help beautify our campus! Mark your calendars to help on Saturdays, January 25, February 8 and February 22, from 12:00 to 2:00pm. Meet in the GWHS Community Garden up the hill from the South Parking Lot. In case of inclement weather, check our WEBSITE for cancellations.
** Next Committee Meeting: Join us Tuesday, January 14 at 5:30pm at Tessa Delicatessen on Colfax and Ivy. All parents, students, teachers/staff and GWHS friends are welcome!
** Buy a Brick: Dedicate a lasting gift to your 2025 graduate or loved one with a customized, engraved brick that will be installed at the north GWHS archway entrance path. Tree dedication plaques are available, too! All contributions benefit the GWHS campus through the GWHS Landscape Committee. Order yours today by clicking HERE!

Project 10 Million - Free Hotspot
T-Mobile is a proud sponsor of City Year and specifically partners closely with the GWHS City Year team. A project we are collaborating on is Project 10-Million, which works to provide free hot spots for students and families. T-Mobile would like to share this incredible opportunity with our GWHS community and offer any eligible student a free hotspot for five years! Hotspots come with free 200GB/year that is renewed yearly with no cost or recertification. Additional data and devices can be added for reduced rates with eligibility for this project. Hotspots can be used by multiple members of a household and can travel with a student across the country!
