✨Read & Rise Family Celebration at Hadley Library!✨ |
A couple of weekends ago, DPS families gathered at Hadley Library for a joyful Read & Rise Family Celebration! This special event was made possible through strong collaboration across Denver Public Schools, including FACE, Gifted & Talented, Library Services, Spellbinders, and our partners at Denver Public Library.
Families and children enjoyed listening to engaging stories, creating fun crafts together, receiving free books, and sharing yummy food and hot chocolate. The event created a welcoming space for connection, literacy, and community, and it was heartwarming to see families learning and celebrating together. Thank you to all the teams and partners who helped make this event such a memorable experience for our families!

🎊Happy New Year from FACE!🎊 |
Happy New Year to our DPS families, educators, and community! As we begin a new year, we want to thank you for the continued partnership, trust, and collaboration that make our school communities so strong. We look forward to creating more opportunities for connection, learning, and engagement with families across Denver Public Schools in the months ahead. Here’s to a year filled with growth, joy, and meaningful family-school partnerships! |
Family Engagement Tip: Start the Year with a Family Check-in |
As the new year begins, a simple check-in with families can strengthen relationships and set the tone for continued partnership. A brief message or conversation helps families feel valued, supported, and connected.
Elementary: Invite families to share how their child is feeling about school and any goals for the year through a short message, classroom platform post, or quick personal check-in.
Middle School: Encourage families to talk with their student about what’s going well and where support is needed, while sharing key academic expectations and upcoming dates.
High School: Connect with families around goal-setting, credits, and post-secondary planning. Also, remind them of available academic and counseling resources.
Intentional communication at the start of the new year helps continue building trust and supporting student success all year long.

Regardless, AI will play a significant role in the future.
