Student Spotlight: 4th Grader Lucyanna |
Lucyanna is a student focused on her classes, always working on her activities individually, and when it comes to teamwork she is collaborative with her classmates. She is an attentive and polite student with her teachers and classmates and is willing to listen to her classmates when they ask her or need something from her. Way to go, Lucyanna! |

Staff Spotlight: Nurse Jane |
Our staff spotlight this week is Nurse Jane! Before joining us, Nurse Jane cared for patients in the Intensive Care Unit at Children’s Hospital. She’s grateful for the opportunity to continue supporting children and making a positive impact here at Ellis.
When she’s not at school, Nurse Jane enjoys spending time with her golden retriever, getting lost in a good book and taking walks in the autumn sunshine. |

Dress for Success in Winter |
The average temperature in Denver in November is about 38 degrees Fahrenheit. Make sure your student is dressed for the weather outside! Students will continue to have outdoor recess throughout the year. Don't forget to write your student's name inside their jackets, coats and sweaters. |

We’ve heard from families through the POSSIP Pulse Checks that pick-up and drop-off can be challenging for guardians. Thank you for sharing your feedback; we appreciate your honesty and care for our school community.
We want to make drop-off and pick-up smoother and safer for everyone. Currently, we have support from our crossing guard, Stephanie, and other Eagle staff members. Our Eagle staff members are stationed at key intersections near the school until 7:30 a.m. each morning to help ensure the safety of our students. (Beginning at 7:30 a.m., staff members supporting pick-up need to be in their classrooms to begin the day with their students.) To help keep traffic flowing, we would welcome more support from guardians at arrival and dismissal! Do you have interest and capacity to support Ellis’ pick-up and drop-off? Are you willing to be trained to become a volunteer crossing guard? If so, please provide your name and contact information in the linked form, and we will reach out to you with more information.
In the meantime, please practice safe driving around the school. Follow posted speed limits, avoid double parking, stay alert for students and families crossing the street and be patient. Again, thank you for flagging these concerns to us. We hope to make arrival and dismissal safer for our Eagle families!
