Student Spotlight: 4th Grader Demetrius

Demetrius is this week's star student! He is always going out of his way to help his classmates and keep the classroom clean. Not only that, but Demetrius is always the first to volunteer for a task and never gives up on his work.

Staff Spotlight: Halle Bristow

Ms. B is Ellis’ beloved School Psychologist. Her favorite part of the job is sharing laughs with her Ellis Eagles and watching them learn and grow. She’s made plenty of wonderful memories at Ellis, but one of her favorites was bringing her puppy in for a school visit! A true animal lover, Ms. B enjoys spending her free time with her dogs and riding her horses.

Knit with Love for Ellis Eagles

ECE smiles with their beanies made for them by a local member of the community.

Our Eagles are thankful to have such wonderful and caring community members. Earlier this month, a member of the community hand-made all our ECE, first grade, third grade and fifth grades students winter hats. As the weather starts to get colder this fall, please dress your Eagle appropriately. Encourage them to wear their knit hats, jackets and sweaters. And don't forget to write your students' name inside their belongings!

How Sick is Too Sick?

Healthy kids learn best! Here’s a quick guide to help you decide when your Eagle is ready for school and when they might need to stay home.

Please keep your child home if they have:

  • A fever of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher (must be fever-free for 24 hours without medication before returning)

  • Vomiting or diarrhea within the past 24 hours

  • A frequent cough or trouble breathing

  • A sore throat with fever or swollen glands

  • A rash that’s new, spreading, or unexplained

  • Red, irritated eyes with drainage

It’s okay to send your child to school if:

  • They have mild cold symptoms (like a slight runny nose or light cough) but feel well enough to participate

  • They’ve been fever-free and feeling better for at least 24 hours

  • They’re on medication for an illness and are feeling well again

Please check out the How Sick is Too Sick guidelines from the Colorado Department of Health for more detailed information. Thank you for helping keep our school community healthy and happy!

Cherry Arts Mobile Gallery is Here

The Cherry Arts Mobile Gallery is visiting Ellis! The Cherry Arts Mobile Art Gallery is a pop-up art gallery showcasing original works of art that travels around the community to schools, libraries and community centers, and our Eagles are having a blast exploring the artwork!
