πŸ”” Reminder there is no school, tomorrow, May 1.

Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week, and we all know that Ellis teachers are the best! Let’s show them how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication. Whether it’s a handmade card, a kind email, or a small treat, make sure your teacher feels the love!

Learning by doing this month!

It’s been a big week of hands-on learning at Ellis:

Paging Dr. Second Grade! It was "Surgery Day" for our second graders! To dive deep into human anatomy, students transformed into surgeons for the day. They practiced their steady hands with Operation games and worked to assemble skeletal and organ systems on paper. It was a great way to see science come to life on our desks.

Kindergarten Let the Wild Rumpus Start! Our youngest artists channeled their inner "Wild Things" this week in Art Class. Inspired by the classic Where the Wild Things Are, students designed their own unique monster masks. Using a mix of feathers, markers, crayons, and custom paper shapes, no two masks were alike! We are so impressed by the creativity and individuality shown by our Kindergarteners.

3rd Grade Is Calling For Rain! Our 3rd-grade scientists have been exploring the water cycle and the science of weather. This week, the focus was on understanding precipitation and the different conditions that lead to rain, snow, and sleet. It has been an insightful week of discovery as students learn how these processes work together to shape the environment around us.

Join Us May 19 for Community & Culture!

We have an exciting morning planned for our families on Tuesday, May 19. Please mark your calendars for back-to-back events celebrating our leadership and diverse school community.

β˜• Pastries with the Principal | 7:30-8:30 am (join us after student drop-off)

Don't miss our final Pastries with the Principal of the school year! This is an opportunity to meet our new principal, Mr. Anthony MuΓ±iz, in a relaxed and welcoming setting. We invite you to grab a treat, connect with other Ellis families, and help us give Mr. MuΓ±iz a warm welcome. We look forward to seeing you there!

🌏 International Day | the morning of May 19

The festivities continue right after breakfast with our International Day celebration! Community Resources will be hosting unique, global programming for every grade level as students rotate through interactive stations throughout the morning.

Parents are invited to stay and join us as our students immerse themselves in traditions from across the globe. We are so grateful for the rich culture and diversity that makes Ellis Elementary such a special place to learn.
