East Theatre Company Updates

Study No More — a one-of-a-kind, site-specific immersive theatre experience that brings the rich history of East High School to life.

The journey begins in 1925, the year our current building first opened its doors, and travels decade by decade all the way to 2025. Audiences will explore the halls, rooms, and iconic spaces of East while witnessing powerful, student-created scenes inspired by major historical moments from the past century.

This production is unlike anything we’ve done before — bold, creative, and deeply connected to our school’s legacy.

Because some spaces are intimate, each evening will feature four rotations of 30 audience members. Of those spots, 20 tickets will be sold online and 10 tickets will be available at the door.

Visit the East Theatre Website for more information and tickets!

Attention 9th, 10th, 11th Grade Guardians!

Dear East High School families:

We are thrilled to announce a new and culturally immersive travel opportunity in spring 2027 to Japan! The fact that you are receiving this means your student is invited to join us! We are hosting a VIRTUAL meeting for families to learn more. Please register for the meeting using the highlighted link below. Registering for the meeting allows us to communicate if there are any updates and follow up with all interested families after the meeting.

Experience rich culture, historic landmarks, and breathtaking natural beauty while backtracking Japan’s Golden Route, an immersive journey that includes the country’s must-see cities and sights. From the centuries-old spirit of Kyoto to the legendary Mount Fuji to the modern metropolis of Tokyo, this adventure is a beautiful collection of the many shining gems of Japan.

We have witnessed first-hand the transformative impact these travel experiences have on students, and we deeply believe in these opportunities for our students to grow in independence and confidence, develop teamwork and collaboration skills, a better understanding of the world and their place in it, and to set themselves apart in their futures, and we are excited to see this growth in your student.

Please visit this link for the meeting details and to register:

https://rsvp.eftours.com/vde56hp  (November 4th, 6:30 - 7 pm)

(and please register even if you can’t make it so we can follow up!)

We’ll cover all the details, including the itinerary, activities, academic and scholarship opportunities, and the cost of our trip, which includes a limited time early enrollment discount. The meeting will also mark the official opening of enrollment!

There are limited spots on this tour, and we expect them to fill quickly, so we would love to have you attend this meeting to learn more about this exciting opportunity for your child!

Thanks,

Deborah Voss + Dave Medicus

Potential Delay in November SNAP Benefits Disbursement

The State of Colorado anticipates that if the government shutdown continues through Oct. 22, families who receive SNAP benefits will experience delays in disbursement for the month of November. The State will be sending communication directly to impacted households and will have their School Nutrition Team available to ensure families know how to access local food resources.

In the event that November SNAP benefits are delayed, our school meals at DPS will not be impacted. School breakfast and lunches will continue as normal and remain free to families.

If you need additional food before your SNAP benefits are available, contact these local organizations:

  • Colorado 211: Call 2-1-1, 866-760-6489 or visit 211colorado.org.

  • Feeding Colorado: Visit feedingcolorado.org/find-food or email info@feedingcolorado.org.

  • Hunger Free Colorado: Call their Food Resource Hotline 855-855-4626
