State Testing Schedule Spring 2025

sat
  • From April 14th - 17th East High School students will participate in SAT, PSAT, and CMAS Science tests as required by the state of Colorado.

  • This is a chance for students and their families to get feedback on student progress and college readiness.

  • All 11th grade students taking the SAT free of charge have the opportunity to send their scores to colleges to be considered for admissions decisions.

  • Parents or guardians who would like to decline their student’s College Board approved testing accommodations for the April administration of the SAT or PSAT should email our Site Assessment Leader Jessica Perkins at jperkin@dpsk12.net by March 14. Any requests made after that date may not be guaranteed because accommodations are built into the digital testing format.

  • These test scores affect East High School’s ratings on the state of Colorado’s School Performance Framework.

  • The guardian of a Denver Public Schools student, can request to excuse their child from participating in the state assessments. If you wish to opt your child out, please direct any opt out requests in writing to mark_saucedo@dpsk12.net. Include your student's name, grade, and the test(s) for which you would like them opted out.

Reminder - SAT and PSAT Practice Follow-Up from Friday, February 28th

Now that your student has completed the Practice P/SAT on Friday, February 28th, the College Board will link their performance with Khan Academy. According to a study by Forbes, “students who spent just six hours using Khan Academy’s free SAT practice saw an average score increase of 90 points.” (Forbes article)

To help your student take full advantage of their practice test and Khan Academy resources, follow these steps:

  • Check Scores on College Board
Ask your student if they have logged into their College Board account to view their scores.

    • “After you've taken an SAT practice test in Bluebook™, log in to My Practice to view your scores.”

  • Review Individualized Practice on Khan Academy
Encourage your student to access their personalized study plan.

    • “From your scorecard or the score details page, click the ‘Practice on Khan Academy’ button to access a special walk-through course. This course provides detailed explanations for every question on the test and links to lessons covering the skills needed for improvement.”

Click here for more information on how Khan Academy can help your student prepare for the official SAT and PSAT in April.

All students and those that missed the Practice P/SAT on February 28th, can still complete the exam on their own and take advantage of Khan Academy’s tailored practice.

Students will follow these instructions and login using their Collegeboard account to take the practice test on Bluebook.
