All Comprehensive high schools will give the P/SAT practice test in February.  East will offer this opportunity on Friday, February 28 for all 9th, 10th and 11th graders.  Students will report to their 3rd period class for testing.  Teachers who do not have a 3rd period will be assigned classrooms to support where needed.  Stay tuned for more details.

Friday will be a no contact day for 12th graders unless they have Edgenuity courses.  These students should report at 8:30 a.m. to room 324.

State Testing Schedule Spring 2025

Make up Testing Begins Monday, April 21st at 8:20am in the Library

sat

From April 14th - 17th East High School students will participate in SAT, PSAT, and CMAS Science tests as required by the state of Colorado.

This is a chance for students and their families to get feedback on student progress and college readiness.

All 11th grade students taking the SAT free of charge have the opportunity to send their scores to colleges to be considered for admissions decisions.

The optional SAT Essay is offered as part of the 11th grade test. The deadline to opt into the essay portion of the SAT is February 18th. Please use this google form to opt into the essay section of the SAT. Talk to your student's counselor if you have any questions.

Parents or guardians who would like to decline their student’s College Board approved testing accommodations for the April administration of the SAT or PSAT should email our Site Assessment Leader Jessica Perkins at jperkin@dpsk12.net by March 14. Any requests made after that date may not be guaranteed because accommodations are built into the digital testing format.

These test scores affect East High School’s ratings on the state of Colorado’s School Performance Framework.

The guardian of a Denver Public Schools student, can request to excuse their child from participating in the state assessments. If you wish to opt your child out, follow the directions at this link in English or this link in Spanish. The deadline for opting out is February 28. After this date any opt out requests need to be in writing and directed to mark_saucedo@dpsk12.net.

Counseling Connections

Progress Report Email:

On February 11th the counseling team will pull a grade report from schoology. We will send an email home to each student who has a D or an F in one or more courses. The purpose is to collaborate and connect with parents about supporting their student’s academic success. We will share academic resources and opportunities,  as well as steps to connect with your student’s teachers.

10th Grade ICAP:

If your 10th grader is in health this semester, they will be completing their ICAP lesson on Feb 18th. Counselors will be going into health classes to talk about postsecondary planning. Not only are these beneficial lessons and conversations, but completing ICAP is also a graduation requirement.  Counselors are excited to meet with you all.
