National First Generation College Student Day

The Counseling Office will be celebrating National First-Generation College Student Day on November 8th during lunch.  If you have a senior who will be a first generation college student when they graduate high school, please encourage them to come to the counseling office to participate in our photo booth and get information about our First Generation Passport program.  The program is meant to guide students through the entire college,  financial aid, and transition process. A celebratory cord, that they can proudly wear at graduation to signify their accomplishments, is provided to students who complete the program.

10th ICAP:

Counselors met with all students in 10th grade who have Health this semester to complete their ICAP and talk about graduation requirements, academic planning, post-secondary planning and student interests. If your student has health this semester, please connect with them about their plan. If they have Health in the second semester we will be meeting with them then.

11th and 12th ACCUPLACER testing:

On November 13th and 14th Juniors and Seniors will be taking the ACCUPLACER in their English and Math classes. The goal of this is to help students meet competency and remove barriers for students to access concurrent enrollment. The math classes testing are Integrated Math 2 and 3 (honors and non-honors), Financial Algebra, and Probability and Statistics. All junior English classes will be testing except for AP Language. Please have your student connect with their teacher if they have any questions about the test or how to prepare.
