The 2026 East Angel Foundation (EAF) Scholarship Application deadline is quickly approaching: March 20, 2026.
Scholarship Application Requirements:
To be considered, students must submit the online application form and:
Student Aid Index (SAI) – An estimated SAI determining financial need
Personal Statement & Essay – Can be an essay used for the Common Application
One teacher recommendation – Letter should be from an East High teacher
In addition, in-person interviews will take place at East High School on: April 7-8, 2026
In the last 15 years, the East Angel Foundation has awarded over $2Million to 505 graduating seniors. Students attending trade schools or any post-secondary institution are encouraged to apply!

This prestigious, need-based scholarship supports a student with exceptional academic and extracurricular achievements in making the “LEAP” to a top-tier postsecondary institution.

EAF Dedicated Scholarships
EAF administers eight dedicated scholarships, supported by alumni and the wider East community. New
for 2026 are the Martin Brusse 10 th Mountain Division Scholarship, the Class of 1985 Scholarship and the
Sam Robinson Legacy Scholarship. Each award is defined by its own criteria and legacy. Separate
applications are required for the Cleworth LEAP Scholarship and the Sam Robinson Legacy Scholarship.
The Cleworth LEAP Scholarship – $100,000 ($25,000 per year for four years)
This prestigious, need-based scholarship supports a student with exceptional academic and
extracurricular achievements in making the “LEAP” to a top-tier postsecondary institution.
The East Alumni Scholarship – $8,000
Established in 1995 and funded by donations from generous East alumni.
This prestigious scholarship honors the most outstanding Angel from the graduating class based on
academic excellence, school involvement, and community participation.
The Thomas W. Bean Foundation Scholarship – $7,000
Established by the Thomas W. Bean Foundation, this award celebrates the legacy of Thomas Washington
Bean, a pioneering African American businessman. It is awarded to a senior who has overcome
significant challenges and exemplifies hope, resilience, and achievement.
The James Reece (Class of 1960) Scholarship – $4,000
A merit-based award from the James Reece Foundation, named in honor of a lifelong educator and East
High alumnus. James Reece attended Yale and earned an advanced degree from Harvard Business
School. This scholarship recognizes outstanding academic performance.
The Class of 1967, 1968, and 1969 Scholarship – $5,000
Founded by Beth Woodard (Class of 1968) and supported by members of the Classes of ‘67–’69, this
need-based award emphasizes academic merit and meaningful school and/or community service.
The Class of 1985 Scholarship – $5,000
Established in memory of Kinsley (Hyland) Alexander, a beloved member of the Class of 1985, and in
honor of other classmates gone too soon. This need-based scholarship supports a student with a strong
academic focus, particularly in foreign languages and world cultures.
The Martin Brusse, 10th Mountain Division Scholarship – $3,500
An award of $3,000 will be awarded to the primary recipient and $500 to the runner-up. Criteria for
applying will include community service and overcoming adversity. The scholarship has been funded by
a $25,000 dollar pledge by Tony Zakhem in Honor of Martin Brusse. Mr. Brusse was a member of the
10 th Mountain Division 85 th Regiment, Company K during World War II and a 1942 Graduate of East High
School.
Sam Robinson Legacy Scholarship – $TBD
The Sam Robinson Legacy Scholarship honors the memory and legacy of 2022 East High graduate, Sam
Robinson. The scholarship will provide mentors and financial support to motivated students who have
experienced socioeconomic disadvantage or other major hardship whom we believe can thrive in Sam’s
memory. The winners of this scholarship will be selected in their sophomore year and will embody ideals
Sam stood for: extraordinary sense of justice, dignity, empathy, and inclusivity.

Denver Scholarship Program
Deadline: March 01, 2026
Amount: $2,500 (Renewable Up to Four Years)
Scholarships in this new program will be awarded to graduating seniors from public high schools, college preparatory schools, or religious-affiliated schools located in the City and County of Denver. The applicant must have at least a 2.0 semester GPA and 3.0 cumulative GPA during the award period.

Denver Scholarship Foundation Scholarship
Deadline: May 01, 2026 at 11:59PM
Amount: $3,600 (Four-Year Institutions) and $1,700 (Two-Year The DSF Scholarship is a need-based scholarship for qualifying graduates of Denver Public Schools. The scholarship can be used at DSF’s 31 College Partners in Colorado, including technical, community, and four-year colleges and universities, and it is renewable for up to four consecutive years, depending on the type of college. Along with their scholarship award, DSF Scholarship recipients get personalized advising and support to guide them through college toward their education and career goals. Puksta Foundation Scholarship – CSU Fort Collins
Deadline: March 01, 2026
Amount: $7,500 per year
The college years are about something more, something special, something significant, something we at Puksta Foundation call civic engagement and social impact. To apply, Applicants must be a City of Denver resident or have gone to a Denver High School for the last 6 months prior to attending CSU (Puksta Foundation partners with Prosperity Denver Fund), Have financial aid up to 2.5x Pell Grant, Have compassion and commitment for civic engagement and social justice, and be full-time student. Must also have minimum GPA of 2.5 and Essay are required.

Amount: $6,500 per year

Colorado Garden Foundation Scholarship
Deadline: March 15, 2026
Amount: Full-Ride for One Year.
Colorado Garden Foundation is proud to offer its scholarship programs from proceeds generated from the annual Colorado Garden & Home Show and Colorado Fall Home Show, to provide financial aid to students attending a college or university in Colorado. This scholarship is for full Resident Tuition, Books, and Fees for one year. Applicants must be a pursuing a degree in Horticulture, Landscape Horticulture, Floriculture, Turf grass Management, Botany, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Landscape Design, or Landscape Architecture.

Blacks at Microsoft (BAM) Scholarship
Deadline: March 16, 2026
Amount: Up to $5,000 (Renewable up to three years)
The BAM Scholarship was created to enable Black and African American students to attend college and pursue a career in technology. The goal is to empower future generations to do and be more. Be a US-based high school senior of African descent (for example, African American, African, Ethiopian, etc.). Plan to attend a four-year college or university in the US in the fall immediately following your high school graduation. Plan to pursue a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, computer information systems, or select business programs (such as finance, business administration, or marketing). Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Must demonstrate leadership at school or in the community. Must also demonstrate financial need.

Never Forgotten Scholarship
Deadline: February 27, 2026
Amount: $1,000
The Never Forgotten Fund was established in 2001 by iHeartMedia, Inc. (formerly Clear Channel) at The Denver Foundation to honor the lives of the 13 victims at Columbine High School on April 20, 1999. Twelve students and one teacher died that day. The contributions they would have made to the world were lost as well. It is hoped that the recipients of this scholarship will carry on the legacy of these individuals by making a positive and lasting impact in the world. Must be a Denver Metropolitan area high school graduate. Must be a citizen or legal resident.
