East High School

Friday Newsletter

Welcome Back, Angels!

We had an amazing first week with our students back on campus. We loved seeing our staff and students excited and ready for the year. We are finding joy in everything we do in and for our school community.

We are so grateful for this incredible community and can’t wait for more good times this year.

Our future is BRIGHT!

EHS Poms
hello halo

The East Angel Foundation is gearing up for these exciting Halo Hello events, and we need your help!

The East Angel Foundation is all about helping our East students succeed—funding college scholarships, the Student Assistance Fund (covering essential costs like books and AP test fees), providing Teacher Classroom Grants, and running vital programs like the Angel Packs food initiative. This fall, we’re hosting community events to bring us all together and support these incredible initiatives.

We’re assembling volunteer committees for everything from decor, to food and beverage, to creating “thank you” gift bags for our excellent teachers and staff. Your involvement is critical to making the Halo Hello events a smashing success!

Join the fun, make a difference, and connect with incredible fellow East parents! Sign up now:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C094CACAD28A13-50765952-halo

Please share this with anyone who might be interested in volunteering. If you have any questions, reach out to Lisa Cramer, Lisa@LisaCramer.com, 303-717-7272

Schedule Adjustments:

If a student has a gap in their schedule or is enrolled in the wrong level, please advise them to see their counselor. Students will see their counselor during their gap or incorrect level period (ex. 4th period gap, student will go see their counselor during 4th period.) Counselors will also be available before and after school in the counseling office.

If a student would like to request an elective change or a different class, it is important that they fill out the course change request form. (https://forms.gle/oGs1aTheBzkxFbP29)

Please note the following deadlines and procedures:

    •    Elective Change Requests: These must be submitted within the first 2 weeks of the semester.

    •    Level Changes: If your student needs to change the level of a course, these requests must be completed within the first 6 weeks of the semester and will require additional paperwork.

Athletics:

Fall Sports is off to a great start. Thank you for all of your support and encouragement of our athletes. This first week back we had some hiccups in getting athlete’s attendance in IC. Mr. Browne has regained attendance access, so from this point forward you should be able to see the athletic dismissals in IC in addition to the spreadsheet. Mr. Browne will update the spreadsheet every Sunday and resend out to the staff.

Chromebooks were distributed this week to students during their English classes.  If your student did not receive a chromebook they can go to room 230 to check one out.  Please bear with us as we replenish our lost charger supplies.  We are working diligently to get chargers in the hands of all students.  Please talk to your student about proper chromebook care.

First 10, Last 10/Tardy Policy

We need your help!! Please, please, please.  Do not release students in the First 10 minutes or the last ten minutes.  Every comprehensive high school is implementing this practice.  We can do it!  As of right now, not everyone is implementing this practice.  Many of you are and we truly appreciate it.  Also, the bells are working.  Please do not dismiss students until the bell rings.  Thanks in advance for your assistance and cooperation. Help us encourage our students to get to class on time! Please review our new tardy policy, (Tardy Policy)
