Dear Team DPS,
Join me in celebrating Paraprofessional Appreciation Day, which occurs each year on the first Wednesday of April. We thank our paraprofessionals whose work is crucial to the success of our schools, teachers and students.
DPS paraprofessionals play a variety of roles. They help build welcoming classroom culture and provide individualized support for students, including support for our multilingual learners and students with disabilities. Students benefit from the relationships created one-on-one or in small group experiences. Paraprofessionals also make a difference for our teachers by contributing to a classroom’s success, and the success of the school community overall.
Paraprofessionals across DPS are truly invested in student success, providing spaces where Every Learner Thrives. Thank you for your commitment to making our schools the best learning environments they can be.
Respectfully,
Dr. Tony Smith
Deputy Superintendent
