Sign Up to Express Interest in After School Clubs: Deadline is Wednesday |
We are pleased to announce that we are ready to roll out our annual offerings of after school clubs starting in January. Our clubs are fee-free, run by our wonderful staff (both paraprofessionals and teachers!), and take place after school on a specific day of the week. Most clubs are slated to run until Spring Break, though some clubs might continue through the end of the year.
Our staff really came through this year to offer a variety of options! Here is the process:
1. Check out our menu of club options here. Pay close attention to the age range and the day of the week.
2. Express your interest by signing up via this form before Thursday. Signing up DOES NOT guarantee your student a spot as seats are limited in each club and we will confirm seats by the end of the day on December 19th via email to support family planning for January. Additionally, if a club does not receive enough interest we may not run that particular one.
3. Families are welcome to sign-up for multiple clubs for one student, however, priority will be given to ensuring all students get access to at least one club as we work to balance the various interests and work towards equitable access and participation. If you would like your student to possibly participate in multiple clubs, you will need to fill out a separate form for each club.
4. Should you get a spot in a club, regular attendance is expected, timely pick up is required, and all school behavioral expectations must be met during the club time. We reserve the right to dismiss any student from participation based on attendance, multiple late pickups, or behavior.
Let's go! We love offering these opportunities each year!

Social Emotional Learning Question of the Week |
One of our goals this year is to increase building-wide alignment of our weekly social emotional learning lessons, content, and economy of language. With that being said, we have a "SEL Question of the Week" that we discuss in our morning meetings and always aligns to monthly focus. Ms. Watson creates a weekly video to launch the week as well.
Please ask your students about these questions and about the conversations they are having at school!
December's Focus: Excellence (continued)
Week 1: How does paying attention help you show excellence?
Week 2: What can you do when things get hard?
Week 3: How can you change an unhelpful thought into a helpful one to help you learn and grow?
Week 4: How can reflecting on your learning help you grow?
Week 5: How can mistakes help us learn and grow?
Week 6: What can our class do better to demonstrate excellence in 2026?

You Are Invited: November/December Golden Eagle Award Assembly on Friday @ 10:30am |
If your student brought home a Golden Eagle Award and bracelet in November or December, they have been nominated by their teacher for demonstrating and living out our school’s core value of Excellence. Hopefully your student excitedly brought home their swag--We are so proud of them!
We are committed to increasing our family partnerships this year, and celebrating our students with you is an important aspect of this partnership. We will send individual emails as well, but you are invited to celebrate your child during our monthly Golden Eagle Award and Student Celebration Assembly on Friday, December 19th from 10:30am - 11:00am. This assembly is a short, public way to recognize each award winning student for the month, and encourage all students to continue to live out our core values of Community, Kindness, Curiosity, and Excellence each day. Our hope and goal is for all students to earn this recognition through their consistent effort and hard work.
Hopefully you can join us!

Would you benefit from some Gifts for your children this Holiday Season? We can help! |
This is our 3rd annual effort to support our Dora Moore families to bridge a potential gap with Holiday presents for their kids. We are so excited to report that through some strategic partnerships we have secured brand new toys that any Dora Moore family in need can come and select for FREE.
Here are the details:
1. Any current Dora Moore family can participate. We believe we have enough gifts for families to choose two presents per child in their household. We have bags and boxes to discreetly transport them home!
2. The presents we have secured are generally for children age 3 - 12 years old.
3. Our Holiday pop-up store is open around arrival and dismissal starting at 8:30 AM on Tuesday, Dec. 16th and will run throughout the week or until gifts run out.
- Tuesday - Friday 8:30-9:45 AM & 3:30-4:30 PM
- Be prepared for the possibility of a short wait as we work to accommodate all families.
- Buzz-in at the main door, get a visitor's pass, and let us know you are here to shop for presents and we will send you up.
- If you are unable to come during the above hours please check-in with Ms. Bianka in the main office and she will be able to assist you.
If you have any questions about this opportunity, please reach out to Mr. Konz (joshua_konz@dpsk12.net).
