Golden Eagle

You Are Invited: October Golden Eagle Award Assembly on Thursday @ 10:30am

If your student brought home a Golden Eagle Award and bracelet in October, they have been nominated by their teacher for demonstrating and living out our school’s core value of Kindness. Hopefully your student excitedly brought home their swag--We are so proud of them!

We are committed to increasing our family partnerships this year, and celebrating our students with you is an important aspect of this partnership. We will send individual emails as well, but you are invited to celebrate your child during our monthly Golden Eagle Award and Student Celebration Assembly on Thursday, October 30th from 10:30am - 11:00am. This assembly is a short, public way to recognize each award winning student for the month, and encourage all students to continue to live out our core values of Community, Kindness, Curiosity, and Excellence each day. Our hope and goal is for all students to earn this recognition through their consistent effort and hard work.

Hopefully you can join us!

Costume Parade

Halloween Details

On October 30th, students are encouraged to wear a costume to school. Yeah--It's one day a year so let's enjoy it! (Also, it makes it much easier on our staff to not have to facilitate students changing into costumes at the end of the year.) A few rules and expectations for costumes:
No weapons (knives, guns, etc)

  • Nothing gorey and gross (we have littles and many costumes are too scary for school)

  • Masks can be brought and worn for the parade, but students will be asked to remove the mask during class.

  • School dress code applies.

Most classrooms will have a Halloween Party at from 2:30pm - 3:30pm--Check with your homeroom teacher for specifics. Then, we will have a school-wide Halloween Costume Parade from 3:30pm - 3:50pm out on the playground. Families are encouraged to join us outside on the playground to celebrate and see all the costumes. Students will return into the building via the parade and be dismissed at their normal spot using our normal procedures.

Meal Benefits Support Information

Background: After Congress failed to pass a budget for Fiscal Year 2026 by the September 30 deadline, the federal government officially shut down on October 1, 2025. Winter ELCS Enrichment Classes at Dora Moore

Dora Moore's Winter Enrichment Catalog Page: https://dps.arux.app/courses/category/17/school-year-enrichments/dora-moore

Enrichment programs are a fantastic way for students to explore their interests and develop new skills through focused, single-subject activities. Offered by trusted DPS Community Partners, these programs provide exciting elective options at over 32 schools across the District. Enrichment activities run during the first hour after school, seamlessly complementing Discovery Link programming. Students can participate in both Enrichment and Discovery Link on the same day by registering for both programs!\

These enrichments are fee-based.

If your student qualifies for Free and/or Reduced Lunch and are interested in Enrichment programs please complete the scholarship interest form.  Do NOT register for a program you have submitted the interest form for.  Scholarship Interest Form linked here.

Please note if a program does not meet the minimum number of students as stated by the community partner offering the program, the class will be canceled.

Enrichment offerings are not a DPS program, activity or service. All are run by businesses

The deadline to withdraw from the winter session is Monday, November 25th by emailing us at enrichment_extendedlearning@dpsk12.org.
