Hello Ravens, 

We hope you all enjoyed back to school night and connecting with teachers and our staff! We had a great turnout.

As a reminder, we expect all students to maintain a 93% attendance rate throughout the school year. Chronic absenteeism is composed of all absences (excused and unexcused) for an attendance rate below 90% for students. Please continue to encourage your students to attend class and get there on time.

Families may utilize All City Stadium for drop off in the morning to avoid the congestion on Franklin and the parking lot. Students can walk up to the school from the parking lot. 

If your student missed picture day this week, make-ups will be on September 24th.

Lastly, we would like to celebrate that South is Green in our 2025 Preliminary SPF Rating. We would like to shout out our amazing staff and all the hard work they put into  instruction every day, organizing testing and getting participation rates up, and to our counselors for getting our seniors across the finish line and off on their next adventures!

Students who sign up for the Italy/Germany trip by Thursday, September 12, 2025 will be entered into a raffle for a $1,000 scholarship toward the cost of the journey.

This trip is all about bringing history and culture to life:

South High School College Fair (primarily in-state schools)

• Thursday, October 2nd from 1:00-2:00 pm in the East Parking Lot.

College Fairs of Greater Denver (primarily out-of-state schools)

• Thursday, October 9th from 5:30-7:00 pm in the South Main Gym - More information to come!

National Association for College Admissions College Fair

• Saturday, October 25th from 1:00-4:00 pm at University of Colorado Indoor Practice facility.

The Denver South Giving Grocery provides FREE, fresh, and healthy groceries, including meat, eggs, milk, produce, and bread, to South students every Thursday. There is no need to sign up in advance. All students may just come to Room 141A after school on a Thursday. Check out our website or follow us on Instagram for more information.
