Dear Team DPS,
Our very own Denver Public Schools (DPS) app and our new two-way communication platform, Thrillshare Rooms, are now live!
The new DPS app offers live feed updates, district and school news, upcoming events and push notifications for important and urgent announcements. Staff and families are encouraged to download the app to be in the know about important things happening at individual schools and the district as a whole. This feature is meant to replace different parent-teacher communication tools used by schools in the past. By bringing classroom communication and messaging into our district app, we hope to create a simpler and ultimately better communication experience for staff and families.
Key Features
With Rooms and the DPS app, teachers, staff and coaches can communicate, share classroom announcements and reminders about coursework all through the new DPS app.
Automatic translation is built into the platform so each interaction is available in the parent or guardian’s preferred language.
Rooms allows teachers to control the flow of parent-teacher conversations. Instead of juggling conversations through multiple channels like Facebook, email, etc., Rooms funnels all parent-teacher communication into one place. In addition, thanks to our districtwide implementation, teachers will be able to use Rooms at any district-managed school and many charter schools authorized by DPS.
Because Rooms is integrated with Infinite Campus, students will automatically appear within their appropriate class designation.
