North Viking Family,
It is with a heavy heart that we share with you that Audrina Arrington, one of our students, passed away a day ago. Audrina was a beloved student and our community is sad and hurting over the tragic news of her passing. We are sending love and care to her family during this very difficult time. It is never easy to send communication like this to our community. It deeply affects our students, staff, and community.
Please be aware that there are multiple news media reports around the incident. As a community, we will respect the privacy of the family at this time. Our main goal will be to support students, staff, community, and the family.
If you or anyone you know needs support processing through this loss, you can connect with a counselor or anyone from our Mental Health Team. North High School will work with counseling and mental health to provide a safe space in our Alumni Room today and they will be pushing into any classrooms affected by this loss.
In addition, here are some general tips and resources for parents and caregivers supporting students who have experienced a recent loss.
Additionally, Judi’s House is a Denver-based organization specializing in supporting children impacted by grief and loss. They are offering services in-person and remotely.
Our thoughts are with the family at this time. We will continue to process this sad news as a school community, and again, please feel free to reach out as needed for ongoing support.
Sincerely,
German Echevarria
Principal
North High School
