Summary/ Introduction:
Last week at DCIS at Fairmont, we had a full week of learning and fun! Our 3rd-5th graders finished their first interim testing, and our football and soccer teams continue to work hard on the field. This week we have a LOT going on, and it's a short week! We will celebrate our October ambassadors, have a costume day, and have a Halloween Parade. See more information below about costumes and the parade. There is NO school on Thursday OR Friday this week. We hope all families have a safe and fun Halloween for those who celebrate, and enjoy a long weekend. We will see students back in November! Thank you for your support.

La semana pasada en DCIS at Fairmont tuvimos una semana llena de aprendizaje y diversión. ¡Nuestros estudiantes de 3.º a 5.º grado terminaron sus primeras pruebas interinas, y nuestros equipos de fútbol americano y fútbol continúan trabajando arduamente en el campo!¡Esta semana tenemos MUCHAS cosas pasando y además es una semana corta! Celebramos a nuestros embajadores de octubre, tendremos un día de disfraces y un Desfile de Halloween. A continuación, encontrará más información sobre los disfraces y el desfile. No habrá clases este jueves o viernes. Deseamos que todas las familias tengan un Halloween seguro y divertido (para quienes lo celebren) y disfruten de un fin de semana largo. ¡Nos veremos nuevamente en noviembre! Gracias por su apoyo.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Parent Corner

Due to the short week, we will not have an SEL lesson this week. Teachers will be revisiting other lessons, and reinforcing our core values of Joy, Perseverance, Respect, and Integrity. We will be back in action next week!

Halloween Costumes and Parade
Disfraces y Desfile de Halloween
October 30th and 31st are NO STUDENT contact days at DCIS AT FAIRMONT. On October 29th, we invite students to dress up in their Halloween Costumes at school. Students may not: bring weapons, wear full face make up, or have their face completely covered with a mask.
We will have a mini Halloween parade at 2:30pm on 10/29 on our field. We welcome all families to check in at the office and join us for a few laps on our track in our costumes.
El 30 y 31 de octubre no habrá clases para los estudiantes en DCIS at Fairmont. El 29 de octubre, invitamos a los estudiantes a venir a la escuela disfrazados para celebrar Halloween.
Los estudiantes no pueden traer armas, usar maquillaje que cubra todo el rostro ni cubrirse completamente la cara con una máscara.
Tendremos un mini desfile de Halloween a las 2:30pm el 29 de octubre en nuestro campo. Invitamos a todas las familias a registrarse en la oficina y acompañarnos a dar algunas vueltas en la pista con sus disfraces.

If you want to do pottery or need childcare you MUST RSVP HERE by TODAY 10/26! If you are interested in just coming to hangout out please RSVP by 10/29 so we know to look out for you! See handout for more details and to RSVP. See you there!
Suggested donation of $5/person for facility fee, $20/person for pottery, and option for childcare available at the school for $15/child (must be DCIS student).

Picture Retake Day
Día de Retomar Fotos
Students who missed Picture Day will have a chance to take their pictures on Tuesday, November 4th. Uniforms are not required for students taking retakes.
Si su estudiante se perdió el Día de las Fotos, las repeticiones de fotos serán el martes 4 de noviembre. No se requiere uniforme para los estudiantes que se tomen la foto ese día.
