School Dress Code:
Temperatures are starting to warm up (again!) which feels great but Cowell still requires students to follow dress code policies. Tops such as spaghetti strap tank tops, crop tops or jewelry that presents itself as dangerous or distracting are not allowed. All of this can be found in our parent handbook. The links to the handbooks are at the bottom of this page.

Our K-5 Students are still participating in our bi-weekly Denver Public Library Bookmobile. Every other Thursday students are able to check out new books to read at school and at home. Below is a remind of the weeks the Bookmobile will be at Cowell.
Kids Heart Challenge
Kids Heart Challenge is wrapping up at our school soon! Don’t miss your chance to be a lifesaver.
How do you know if a book is a good fit for your child? Try using the Five Finger Rule. Have your child open the book to the middle and choose any page to read. Have them read the page aloud. Put up one finger for every word they do not know or cannot pronounce. One finger means that this book will be easy for your child. Two fingers means this will be just right. Three fingers means this could be a little hard, but fun to try. Four fingers means this could be hard, and your child will have more success reading this with an adult. Five fingers means that this book will be very hard for independent reading. This could be a good book to read to your child instead!
