A note from the Assistant Principal's desk

October 2025

Estimadas familias:

As we move deeper into the school year, we have many exciting events ahead. Please take a moment to visit our new website https://cmscommunityschool.dpsk12.org/ to review our calendar, which lists all events for the upcoming months. We will continue to add information to our website.

Family-Teacher Conferences – October 7th & 9th

Our Fall Family-Teacher Conferences will be held after school on Tuesday, October 7th and Thursday, October 9th.

These conferences are a valuable opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher(s), discuss academic progress, and partner together for student success.

Stay tuned! A sign-up sheet will be shared soon by your child’s teacher so you can select a time that works best for your family.

We look forward to seeing you and continuing to build strong school-home connections!

CMS Annual Fall Festival – October 24th!

We’re excited to announce that our Annual Halloween Parade & Fall Festival will be held on Friday, October 24th!

CMS Student Parade

We'll kick-off our festival with a costume parade! Join us on the blacktop at 3:30 p.m. to see our students walking in the CMS parade! Families are welcome and encouraged to attend and cheer on our students. Stay for food and fun at the festival immediately following the parade.

Costumes at School

Students are welcome to wear their costumes to school for the entire day on October 24th. Please ensure costumes are school-appropriate and do not include masks or weapons.

Donations Needed!

We’re requesting donations of candy, soda, and juice to help make our Fall Festival a success. Please turn in donations to Martha or drop them off in the Main Office.

Thank you for helping us make this a fun and festive event for all our students!

Food Delivery

We kindly ask that families do not have food delivered to school through third-party services like Uber Eats or DoorDash, and also avoid dropping off meals before lunchtime. While this may be a convenient option, the high volume of deliveries creates unnecessary disruptions in the main office. However, families are always welcome to pack lunches for their children and send them to school with their lunch. Families are always welcome to pack a lunch at home and send it with their child in the morning. Thank you for helping us maintain a smooth and focused school environment!
