Dear CMS Families,
Happy February! As we move into the heart of the school year, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued partnership, trust, and support. February is a month filled with learning, connection, and celebration across our school community.
Special Visitor at CMS!
Last week, Dinger—the dinosaur from the Colorado Rockies—visited CMS to talk with students about the importance of healthy habits and lifestyle! Students in grades 3rd–6th received a special homework assignment from Dinger. If they return their completed homework, they will receive a Colorado Rockies poster. Thank you for supporting healthy choices at home!
Teaching and Learning
Classrooms are busy with engaging instruction, collaborative learning, and continued growth across content areas. This week, our 3rd graders used the school’s VR headsets to explore the solar system—some students even got to “hold” the sun in their hands! A huge thank you to Maestra Flor for making this engaging and memorable learning experience possible.
Attendance Matters!
Our attendance is looking great—thank you for making it a priority to bring your students to school every day. Being present truly makes a difference in learning. Every day counts!✨
ACCESS Testing
We are so proud of our CMS Buffaloes! Our students continue to show incredible resilience and strength. A heartfelt thank-you to our amazing teachers and paraprofessional for their dedication and support in helping students through these very important ACCESS tests. Their hard work truly makes a difference! We had 100% participation, and we couldn't have done that without you!
Family Partnerships
Families are at the heart of our school community. Whether through conferences, school events, or everyday conversations, we appreciate your engagement and advocacy for your children. Please remember that our doors are always open, and we encourage ongoing communication with teachers and staff.
Upcoming Events & Celebrations
We have a couple of upcoming classroom celebrations for our CMS students, and we’re excited to share that these will be no-uniform days. Please see the full list of February events on this page. Thank you for helping your students participate and celebrate with us!
With appreciation,
Dr. Esmeralda Orrin, Assistant Principal
