A Message From Principal Olson

We’re so excited to have your students back at Bruce. We have had a fantastic first week.  A few quick updates. Our goal continues to be 90% attendance. Please make sure your student is at Bruce everyday. We are continuing to focus on high quality instruction everyday and creating a safe and welcoming environment for your students. If you ever have concerns about what is happening at school, please reach out to me as I want to make sure every student thrives. Important Dates:

  • September 1 - No School, Labor Day

  • September 4 - School Pictures

  • September 11 - Back to School Night on September 11th from 5-7pm.  Dinner will be provided.

  • September 18 - Collaborative School Committee (CSC) Meeting from 5-6:30pm

  • September 22 - No School, PD Day

  • September 23-26 - Homecoming Week

Bruce Randolph Sports

High School - HS Sports; boys soccer, girls volleyball and girls flag football, have begun. We would love to have a few more people join the girls flag football team. Reach out to Mr. Botello if you are interested in participating.

Middle School - MS Sports will begin after Labor Day. Cross Country, boys baseball and girls soccer will start registration next week. Reach out to Mr. Botello for support to get your student registered. Students must have a physical, completed registration, and paid their fees in order to begin practicing.

Back to School Night

Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 5-7pm. We’d love to have you join us for Bruce’s Back to School Night. We’ll have a chance to meet your student’s teachers, Parent Advisory Committee Meeting (PAC), dinner, community partners, as well as an opportunity to win prizes. Girls flag football and volleyball will also have games that night.  We hope to see you that evening.

Collaborative School Committee (CSC) Meeting

We will have our first Collaborative School Committee (CSC) Meeting on September 18th from 5-6:30pm. We would love to have at least 3 middle school and 3 high school guardians join us on that committee this year. The committee helps guide in budgeting, school schedule, program development, enrollment priorities, school vision, and priority setting for each school year. If you are interested in being a part, please reach out to Miriam Lara for more information (miriam_lara@dpsk12.net).

Parent Advisory Committee Meeting

We will have our first Parent Advisory Committee meeting at 5:30pm on Thursday, September 11 in the library during Back to School Night. Parents of our multi-lingual learners (MLL’s) are invited to learn more about MLL programing, scheduling for students, our test results from the 24-25 school year, and what your individual child’s scores mean. We hope to see you that evening.

Picture Day

Picture Day is Thursday, September 4th. Students will bring home packets for your to order photos online prior to picture day.

Pick-up/Drop-off

Parking Lot


Please make sure you are picking up and dropping off your students on the east side of the building. The west side is for DPS transportation and busses only. Please see the map for more details.

Technology

Your students should have received their chrome books this week. All grade levels, except 12th, have cases on their chrome books. Please remind your student that those cases must remain on their computers. If computers without cases are damaged, students will be liable for the cost of repairs.  Thanks for supporting us in making sure your student's computer is protected.
