Yeti Families,
We have made it to November! As we head into our next month of school, here are some things to ask your students:
1. Do you have any D's or F's?
2. Have you completed your iCAP assignments in LC?
3. Are you making it to class on time?
We are continuing to push for your Yetis to be ON TRACK. This means:
1. NO D's or F's
2. All iCAP assignments done
3. Attendance is 93% or higher.
4. No major behavior incidents.
We have decreased our tardies from this time last year by 64%. That is a HUGE WIN. Let's keep up our progress! Families, we need your support by getting you student to school on time. Every minute lost of learning will impact grades.
I am starting to meet with 8th grade students 1:1 about their on track status. This comes after an 8th grade assembly in which we re-set and named on track expectations at BVMS.
Lets FALL into November with a continual push for success,
Mrs. Sutherland :)
Ms. Santana, Ms. Romo & our Yeti to Shine Theatre club have been hard at work preparing our Fall performance of No Substitutes! We hope you can join us either on Thursday 11/6 and Friday 11/7 @ 5:30pm for a fun night of theatre!
Tickets for sale at the door (cash or card):
Adults — $5 per night or $8 for both nights
Children, students, and staff — FREE

As reminder, all 8th grade families must participate in the DPS Choice application process to be placed in their desired high school for the 26-27 school year.
Current BVMS 6th & 7th graders DO NOT have to participate in this application process as you have automatically been reserved a spot for 7th and 8th grade for the 26-27 school year.
If you know of a family who is looking for their middle school for the 26-27 school year, please give them Mama Yetis number, 720-423-9663 or send them this Future Families website link that has our enrollment pamphlets for them to review and sign-up for a Student Council lead Open House tour in November, December or January!
The SchoolChoice timeline has changed! For the 2026-27 school year, the Round 1 window will open on Dec. 2, 2025 at 10 a.m. and close on Jan. 20, 2026 at 4 p.m. Families will be notified of placement results in late February.
At BVMS, it is our collective responsibility as leaders, educators, families and community members that our students not only succeed, but thrive. One critical component of ensuring our students’ success is identifying and removing barriers that keep our students from coming to school each day. When students are not at school, they not only miss out on valuable learning opportunities for the time they were absent, but they can experience long-term impacts that hinder their development.
Regular attendance is key to student success. Please help us by scheduling appointments on non-school days whenever possible to avoid missed learning time. Together, we can keep our students on track and thriving!
